The destination of this extraordinary journey into the mountains of northern Thailand is the pleasant and picturesque mountain town of Mae Hong Son. In the middle of this place lies a dreamy small lake in which the playfully decorated Burmese temple complexes are reflected. The focus of this interesting trip, guided in German, is a spectacular excursion to the pretty, gold-colored 'Langneck Karen' who live on the Burmese-Thai border. This tour is extremely scenic.

Day 01: Chiang Mai - Doi Suthep - orchid farm - craft workshops.
Transfer from Chiang Mai airport to the hotel. Or we can pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai. We will then drive to Doi Suthep Temple (800 m above Chiang Mai). A jewel among Thai monasteries, this temple with a golden chedi offers magnificent panoramic views of Chiang Mai. We then visit a butterfly and orchid farm. After lunch we visit the world-famous craft workshops in Bo Sang and San Khampeng. Overnight in Chiang Mai.


Day 02: Chiang Mai – Mae Hong Son.
Early morning departure from Chiang Mai. Full-day, wonderfully beautiful trip through the mountain wilderness via Pai with various stops; including at a local market. After lunch, visit the Thum Lot stalactite cave near Soppong. As you continue to Mae Hong Sorn, you will see villages from the Lisu and Lahu hill tribes. Arrive late afternoon. Overnight in Mae Hong Son.


Day 03: Mae Hong Son - Excursion to the 'Long Neck Karen'.
Today, the absolute highlight of our trip, will be adventurous, extremely interesting, certainly very beautiful and unforgettable. After breakfast you will first take a rafting trip on the Pai River. Afterwards you have the opportunity to take an elephant ride through the wilderness. Then the path takes us through mountain villages of ethnic minorities to the Burmese border area, where we will visit the village of the “Long Neck Karen”. We see how these tribes live, how they live and how they make a living. Overnight stay.

 
Day 04: Mae Hong Son – Mae Chaem – Doi Inthanon - Chiang Mai.
Fantastically beautiful drive through dense mountain jungle from Mae Chaem and Doi Inthanon to Chiang Mai. In the evening we recommend a shopping spree through the well-known and popular Night Bazaar.
Overnight stay in Chiang Mai in a first class hotel.

 
Day 05: Transfer to the airport.
